Clerk called around 1:30 asking if we were still coming (check-in is 3:00). He was adamant about us going ahead with check-in. We went to check-in early. Lobby was still dirty from breakfast (food in toaster, crumbs all over the counter, food still out). I got us checked in & we continued running our errands.
We returned to the hotel to unload & to get ready to meet friends for dinner. We decided to check the room out prior to unloading & I’m glad we did!
There were stains on the comforter, dead bugs on the pillows & mattress, flea grit on the sheets, shower so small that I can’t imagine anyone fitting into it, among other things. There was a mattress in the hallway, dirty sheets in the floor beside it, & the room door across from us had the door open (smelled like it had been fumigated). Not to mention the lake view was a view of a construction dumpster.
We immediately went to return the room key; only to find the attendant had left early for the day. I wrote “fleas in bed; not staying; please refund” on the key card envelope & dropped it in the slot (heard it hit the floor).
I can be pretty forgiving; but, this place was disgusting with very poor guest service.
