The view is great indeed if you have a river-facing room, as was the photographer that took the hotel pictures, because the experience is nowhere near what the pic's would have you believe.
The location is on the outskirts of the city, roughly 4.5 kms from the center. With public transport being lousy, this means you walk 45 mins or drive, and then need to find a parking. You're also directly on a three-lane half-motorway, with noise isolation in the rooms being ok, but not total.
The whole hotel has an old feel, as does the uninspired, on the verge of being impolite personnel. No welcome on check-in, no questions about your trip, no enquiry about your stay when leaving (almost laughable when the receptionist said "so first and most important - did you have anything from the minibar?").
We had an upgrade to quite a large corner room with great river views, but no room for storage except a wardrobe in the bathroom. This means that whether you want to or not, you'll be living out of your suitcase, alternatively stock clothes on the work desk or TV table.
Lastly but perhaps worse, cleaning is really poor. We stayed four nights, on two of those the room wasn't vacuumed, on one only the bed had been made with old towels being left on the floor in the bathroom, and hairs that weren't ours on the floor in the shower.
Go elsewhere - there are plenty of hotels in Brisbane and no doubt many that are better than this one.
