We just stayed at the Mountain Meadows Lodge on Thursday Feb 8th-9th.
Upon arriving, the parking lot was empty we were worried it was closed or we were in the wrong spot. We were greeted by the friendly desk agent who checked us in. When we asked about the restaurant she said there would be no food tonight and she wasn’t sure about the bar. Even though the hours you advertise are Thurs-Saturday and one of the reasons we chose the lodge as the menu and craft drinks were appealing to us. Also really disappointing as we had made plans for nearby friends to come visit us at the lodge for food and drinks, we had to cancel and scramble to find a new spot.
We were then given our keys for our “Lake View” room that we purposefully paid more for, for that amenity. Get to the room, no lake view. I suppose if you went on the balcony and looked over the banister and past the privacy wall you could maybe see a sliver of the pond, but we couldn’t even go on the balcony as it was knee high in snow and clearly not prepped for guest arrival. And a broken closet door.
My husband went down to the desk in hopes of changing to a lake view room, where he was met with an aloof answer of “not really”. We were also offered a shovel if we wanted to shovel the balcony ourselves. Luckily a kind young man ended up bringing the shovel and offered to clear it.
Friday morning we woke up, ready to try the breakfast and nothing was out. We asked the front desk who said it’s by order only and she would ha
