So glad we decided to stay at the hotel Abruzzi. It was a bit of a splurge for us, but it was so worth it. The Pantheon was just outside our window! You couldn’t beat the view. You walk out the front door and you are in the plaza. For us, we loved having all the activity of the people coming to the square, the restaurants, the square fountain and Pantheon. This area is centrally located and walking distance to Trevi fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Colosseum, Roman Forum, etc…some sights a few minutes, some 20-25 minutes walking. There was also a taxi stand in the square if you wished to get a taxi. The hotel staff was friendly & helpful. We were grateful for their English speaking, but they were also helpful with our attempts with Italian. The lobby is quite small and there is one small flight of steps to get to the main floor and small lift that went to the upper floors. The breakfast was located at a lovely cafe around the corner. The breakfast offerings were quite nice and the service (particularly from one of the men was excellent) not sure if it was family run and he was the son??) If you like being in the middle of things, stay at the Abruzzi. We enjoyed the people watching. We were lucky enough to be there on a Sunday morning and saw a grand procession from our window going to a Pantheon service. The hotel was also very accommodating about letting us leave our luggage at check out and letting us relax in their guest lounge when our flight was delayed a couple hrs.
