We were pleasantly surprised that our room had been recently renovated and the ocean view was lovely. The price is good too. However, that was where pleasant ended. All vending machines are broken. The lobby and check-in are total chaos. Getting towels from the front desk is nearly impossible, and their “towel card system” is antiquated at best. We tried to watch the Super Bowl in the bar. All patrons were English speakers, but the bar tenders spoke Spanish, so that was the chosen feed. It’s Miami, so to be expected. Even so, inconsiderate. Staff was friendly, but it is clearly understaffed and nobody seems to be trained or know what’s happening. There is a sign in the lobby indicating a renovation is forthcoming, so perhaps there is hope? I used to love this place as a flight attendant, but its heyday is long past.
