Worst hotel EVER!!!!
We didn't even stay. We got there, saw the condition of the place and room, smelled the room and immediately canceled our reservation. They did not even refund us the full amount. It's such a joke. Hotels.com should remove this from their site. NOBODY should stay at the Coratel in Fairfield, Iowa. The young girl, who gets us, and said she was the GM, was barefooted. Her toddler child was waking around the check in desk eating and doing food everywhere. The "GM" tried to say the room smelled because the air was off. Not. Even. Close! Plus, the air should've been on. Oh, and she sent us to a room where there was literally nobody around and there was no ELEVATOR! She put us on the 2nd floor. I have stayed all over the world and never had such a bad experience. And again, they didn't refund all of our money.

It's a decent hotel and right on the main street through Fairfield. Not bad at all. Only thing is that third party booking sites really seem to throw the staff for a loop. That being said, eventually the check in process went through.

The room was well stocked but unattended barking dogs disturbed the quiet. Having housekeeping knocking on doors to check for service at 8 am was aggravating. They should be directed by the desk to rooms where guests have checked out. The complimentary breakfast was rather poorly stocked.

When I made the reservation, I was under the impression that my room would look like the one in photos. I was shocked. The room was very dated, and it smelled like years worth of heavy cigarette smoke. My daughters and I stayed in the room for maybe 10 minutes, before we decided to leave. I paid over $200 for this room. I was scammed. I learned a lesson though. I have never had this happen before, but it will definitely not happen again! I hope someone reads this, but I'm sure it will be buried by fake 5 star reviews.

This hotel isn't ready for guests. There was some kind of leak or sewer issue that caused the side door to be propped open with fans going. The pool was empty - that part of the hotel appeared to be closed and un-airconditioned (that is what my balcony looked out onto). that photo is not a photo of a room in this hotel. my hair dryer wasn't mounted on the wall (there were two unmounted ones). it worked unmounted but the tag appeared to have caught on fire at some point. the lady training another lady at the front desk was kind of rude.

Nice stay; weak breakfast
Check in was fine. Room was nice. Surprised there was no fan in the bathroom. Pool was closed, but I would think by the room being poolside, it could be pretty loud outside the sliding door if the pool was being used. Breakfast had "waffles," but they weren't the kind you bake yourself. They were toaster waffles so we didn't bother with breakfast. Overall a nice property for a rural Iowa city.

Very clean! Please know that the property is under renovation as of now. But the entire property is very clean staff is very nice! We were there during storms and the staff communicated with us the plan knew in case of emergency! I will say again and again how nice the staff was and even thought the pool was closed they let us hang out in the area to congregate with our family! Would recommend over and over!
