We had a room on the 5th floor, without a lift. Around 80 steps are really exhaustive to climb with heavy luggage, so mention to get a room on the lower floors..
We had two incidents regarding cleanliness which could have been prevented if the charwomen would wear hairnets (hairs in bed & shower on the arrival day) and would have an eye for the detail (sprinkles of unknown source over our pillows one day). After talking to the manager he gave us a refund of 10% but we had to talk to him for a bit of a time before he would give it. But at least he did so I'm okay with that.
The breakfast consisted of the following: coffee, tea, milk (not cooled over the two hours of breakfast time), cocoa powder, orange juice (not fresh, lovelessly presented in the origin tetra paks), cornflakes, cereals, two kinds of toast, marmelade / jam (orange / strawberry, raspberry, black currant) and cheese, hard boiled eggs. There was no limitation on how many pieces to eat so this was a good point. The room was not okay, it was too small, too noisy, way too narrow and in the basement. Also it had more of a hostel than a hotel (steel tables, wiggling and squeacking chairs). Also there was only space for 16 persons, so we had to wait several times for others to finish breakfast. A hotel with 25 rooms for at least 50 people must have a bigger breakfast room!
We paid 420 £ (around 650 €) for 6 nights. The location was a big plus, but we wouldn't stay there again.
