All in all quite a nice stop at Madonnina (we - a no more young French couple - booked a room for one night at the end of August 2017 on our way back from southern France). Because of some real difficulties finding our route on the map, we entirely relied on our GPS which guided us right up to the front door of the albergo, just a few miles before the Swiss border. The albergo, a house of some age with interesting architectural features and surrounded by tall trees and a few stately old villas shining gold in the light of the declining sun amid the seducing hilly green landscape, has a pleasant dining garden, a homely meal room, a vast parking area and a large lift. The all place spreads an unexpected charm. No problem speaking French with the staff. Bedroom and bed were quite all right.
