Très cher pour les prestations affichées
Toilettes ne fonctionnent pas imaginez !!! Chambre vieille, luminaires d’un autre âge Aucun service le lundi, pas de restauration. Le mardi matin pas de petit déjeuner ni de déjeuner à l’hôtel…. Prix excessif 356nzd pour ça !! À éviter à tout pris.

It’s funny reading the reviews on here. The place is 2.5 star type place. Basic. Depending on room you get. I stayed in room 404. Two single beds with small bathroom etc. I stayed in summer which seems to be peak season. One thing to be mindful is the whole property faces east or west, so afternoon the sun shines in window s and makes it quite hot but cools down later by 10pm so ok for sleeping. Great view and quiet place. Something different to staying in more popular Te Anau. Good location to drive to various walks in Fiordland national park. It’s 17 min from Te Anau - not many shops around. Just the one bar place ( the church) to get food. But it’s quiet and view is amazing. But I liked it overall

Would not stay again
We were booked in to the three bedroom unit but on arrival were met with an original house from the 60s/70s. The living/kitchen/dining space felt ok, but heading to the bedrooms wasn’t pleasant. The carpets were stained, the toilet didn’t flush properly, the toilet had a low window with no coverage out onto the main road, no screens on windows or doors meant mosquitoes and flies came in, there were stains on the sheets, the outdoor furniture was covered in spiderwebs. The house was extremely musty and messed with my husbands hayfever. This cost us $700AUD for one night. I went to reception to ask for other options and there was one other room. He was very helpful, showing me the room which had a queen bed and a pull out double sofa bed. We moved here and on trying to get the bed ready for our two kids, discovered no mattress on the sofa bed. Back to reception and he was very apologetic, offering 5 meals for dinner (we had already eaten) and said he’d get the mattress for our two kids to share. When we returned from a walk, the sofa bed was packed and an entire single bed had been brought in. Our kids are too big to share a single. Back to reception for the 4th time, we got sheets and blankets and made up the sofa ourselves (not bed, she slept on the sofa). The mattresses were extremely soft and uneven. The shower head was broken. I barely slept a wink. It’s a shame, the location is stunning, opposite the lake and mountains. But this place needs a lot of work.

this motel is a shocker. No staff after 5 pm , no one answering the phone to book in, grounds a total disgrace, room no ckeaned with okd diapers in the bin under the kitchen sink!, no detergent or cloths or tea towels , a filthy very oldfrypan, no bar or restaurant open as advertised, This place according to the locals needs to be bulldozed it is a disgrace and is chasing tourists away from the town.

This motel looks unloved. The young staff member was pleasant and the view is incredible but they are the only redeeming features. Extremely basic motel. The laundry did not work and the bed was terrible. We were supplied with a torn towel. As this was an expensive motel there was no value for money.

The entire property was staffed by one very nice young man but he was obviouslyoverwhelmed. When we first arrived, we were the only guests. The whole place is creepy. The restaurant is not open, the bar is not open. The laundry is inoperable. The rooms are small and poorly maintained. The yards are not maintained. The buildings aren't maintained.

Well.....this is why you should take a moment to read the reviews before you book. There must have been 30 units and we were the only ones there for 2 nights! When we arrived, there was no-one there. We went for a drive and rang until someone answered their phone so we could get a key. The room wasn't sparkling clean - the carpet had not been vacuumed. We went and bought disposable plates and cutlery as there was only cups. The bed was comfortable and the view......incredible.

We were very disappointed - the heater didn't work, there was something seriously wrong with the TV - only 1 channel worked, the rest of them were frozen (and were still frozen in exactly the same places the next morning - we have photos), AND it wouldn't accept casting from our devices. Also, there was a lot of black mould in the fridge, the toilet wasn't clean, and the shelf in the bathroom vanity was unusable due to dirt/rust (we also photos of these). Finally, no one answered the cell phone number that was provided, nor the landline, nor any of our texts. We stayed here earlier this year, and enjoyed our stay, which is why we returned, but unless we receive an apology and (at least) a partial refund, and an assurance that this won't happen again, we won't be returning. This was a bizarre stay and quite eerie. I’m sure Manapouri thrives in the summer months but it was deserted in August. We arrived with the map taking us to the cafe (which looked as though it was closed down) rather than hotel, upon figuring out where the hotel was our key had been left out the front of reception which was closed. We found our room with no dramas, and whilst it initially appeared well presented, we soon noticed the bathroom was not clean (hair that was not ours on the floor and in the shower), mould in the shower, sand on the chair, and the quilt cover had not been cleaned either - one can only hope the sheets had been washed. The television did not work well either, with stations freezing or not being available at all - this may be due to the location but we were told about this if this is the case. During our time here we did not see a single person, however, did hear traffic pass every so often. Check out was easy, dropping the key off where we picked it up, but for 9am on a Monday morning we would’ve expected to see a staff member and this did not happen. Not worth the money we paid, and whilst the room did the job we would not stay again.
