The lights went out in Amarillo.
Electricity went out. It was scheduled but we were not given a letter with the notification as other guests were. The coffee supply’s were not delivered. They did not clean the room. The phones did not have the cable to connect to the outlets. The water for the shower took 15 minutes to heat up. Hotel.com would not reimburse me the one key credit I used the book this room. Never had this many issues with one hotel. I don’t know if Marriott vets their hotel partners very well.

Poor a/c in an otherwise great hotel
I’ve always liked this hotel, but the last 2 stays over a period of time the a/c in the hotel rooms were not blowing cold air. It’s too hot to sleep. So, if a/c in a hotel room on an almost 100° day is not your thing, then this is the place for you. It’s truly sad because the front desk people are nice, the food bistro is nice. Our room was spacious and clean. And, the bed is super comfortable. No apologies have been made for lack of a/c.

The Courtyard Marriott is right downtown Amarillo, Texas. Downtown is in earliest stages of renovation. A wonderful Mexican restaurant is right across the street. A parking garage adjoins the hotel for convenient parking with in/out privilege for a fee. I requested a high room on the corner and was rewarded with a beautiful view and a room full of light. I travel with a bicycle and was able to have it in my room when not riding. The weather was perfect, and the flat terrain is excellent for riding a bicycle.
