We booked a king suite, and when we got there they gave us a room of 2 doubles/queens. We didn't realize until we opened the door, so we came back downstairs, and they were like "Oh. Sorry. We're out of kings. They've been overbooking the kings lately."
That's definitely not a fitting excuse, but they not only weren't up front about it until we asked but the manager also tried to say "It's so strange, because it's usually our queens running out." -- As if this was any better. That's fine, we made due without causing a hubbub, because what's the point when clearly they were so blase about customer service. They were nice enough - just don't expect to get what you pay for.
