This place is an experience that really mirrors what it might feel like to spend the night in jail - from the out friendly front desk check in (be sure to book with them if you want paid parking - otherwise you must search for your own), to the stained, smoke smelling bed sheet and pillow, single small towel (would not fit around a child) . Even though they say they offer shampoo, conditioner etc - they do not. The washrooms are dirty but there are roughly 36 people on a floor and only two toilets and three showers. The showers are mixed gender (just in case that matters to you) . It is loud , really loud , the noise really travels. The room is truly cell size (there is no room for a garbage can, TV, chair etc) it is VERY small. Two grown adults could not change in the space at the same time. Breakfast is awful (truly) bagel and cereal , it is basically help yourself but when I asked if there was water I was told" there is the tap - that's where you get water". Check out was not much better - I asked " is there a key drop off?" and was told "That's your job" . If you really want to visit (and it is pretty cool inside) I recommend touring. To spend $250 a night is just not worth it. There are some amazing hotels in Ottawa where you will be welcomed, it will be clean, your will have a comfortable stay.
