I surprised my husband on Valentine's for a staycation. I have always wanted to stay here. I paid a lot of money, & it was NOT worth it. I felt like the resort needed a "refresh." The clientele wasn't what I was expecting. We went into the bar area, could have been nicer, and my husband ordered a LI iced tea. Should have 5 shots in it. I rarely drink and I could not taste the alcohol. He went to the bar and asked if there were alcohol and she said yes, they are only allowed to put 1/5 of each alcohol in it to equal 1 full shot.Then he said I will just buy a shot of tequila. Charging at least dbl from anywhere else. We went up to the room and was relaxing, then, there were feet running across the floor above us. Constant running. Then the rooms next to us sounded as if they were rearranging the furniture in their rooms. We even had the tv on. We went to find a manager. The spa mgr. was avail. she came to our room to hear it herself, and ofc it wasn't happening. The spa mgr went downstairs to see if we could be moved to another room, and they said they were fully booked and that we couldn't move nor cancel. She said she could take off the resort fee off our bill. I called hotels.com, they tried calling the hotel bc if they would let us cancel then we would be going to another hotel. Pelican never answered, and hotels.com was suppose to compensate. I was given onekey $ bc I've been waiting, but hotels.com said they couldn't compensate any more. First & last for me!
