The 'La Petite Salamandre' guest house in the countryside is an absolutely delightful place to stay, surrounded by so many castles to visit in the area! The rooms are very clean and well-maintained, and an excellent daily buffet breakfast (featuring bread, pastries, homemade yogurt, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, seasonal fruit, butter, jams, and sandwich meats) is included in the reasonable room cost. The hosts, Serge and Audrey, are very friendly and went out of their way to assist in any way they could to make my stay pleasant.
The setting in the countryside is pleasant and relaxing, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Shower liquid soap, towels, and blankets are provided free of charge. There were three 220-voltage outlets in my room and one in the bathroom.
That said, a car is needed to get there and to get around. TV or telephone were not available in the rooms at the time of my stay. Internet is included in the room price. A laptop can be used to watch Netflix or other programs you are already subscribed to.
The hosts speak mostly French. I suggest using a translation app for translations into French.
