Good hostel, horrible security
Overall our stay was ok. We had one big issue - we saw someone who was not a guest come in the hostel and use the showers/kitchen and leave suspiciously (he ran out of the shower without his shoes on to put them on outside). At first we called the other hostel location (since it was before 8am) and they lied to us and said they would come right over because they were only 5 minutes away. We told one of the workers (aka volunteers) about the situation, and then told the manager who started working at 8. The guy came back the next day to use the fridge and the other manager saw him. The manager confronted him and he got very aggressive showing some email confirmation and yelling that he "had to go to work" even though it was Saturday. We overheard the workers talking about the guy and the fact that no one could identify him and they weren't sure where he was staying since there was no room/bed for him. We also saw him driving away with a dog in his car, so we really think he was not a paying customer at all. We feel this was not handled well, the least they could have done was change the code on the main door. This is upsetting because the hostel is not cheap and some random guy broke in and we had no idea what his intentions were. Obviously management only cares about the money, not the safety of their guests. We never got an update but I guess the guy never showed up again. Other than that, workers were nice and it was relatively clean.
