If you travel to Marseille and just want to go out, have fun, discover other locations, and stay a little in the hotel, it will be sufficient.
Nice central location. You can walk to everywhere in the city - downtown, shopping area, the subway... just Notre Dame would be a challenge to walk up to.
If you JUST want to experience the city, it is a good place.
If you also want to go out and visit Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, and the Calanques; it also a nice central place.
Downside, the staff does not communicate with each other. We ordered our taxi one day ahead but the staff in the morning did not know that it was us. Just because of a 1 minute delay, the cab drove away.
Be really aware, it is a SMALL room. We stood at room #302. The bathroom has a nice size though.
