The hotel could actually be comfortable despite its age, but there are just too many things wrong with it: sorry to say this as we don't normally want to put down a little privately run hotel, but this hotel is just not clean. We found hair, grit, dust and dirt everywhere and at first we thought the floor-tiles might be a little aged but it turned out to be old dirt that could simply be wiped away. When we showed the hotel staff our room, especially all the hair on the bathroom floor, we were given the option of changing rooms but weren't convinced this would be any better and simply re-cleaned the floor ourselves. The nice little courtyard shown in the pictures is since devoid of greenery and rather depressing. Behind the lobby, on the way to the rooms, there is a nasty hole in the floor which is simply covered with a piece of carpet - we were not warned about this but as we, luckily wore sneakers, we were fine, but for someone in high heels this could be a dangerous surprise. The staff was superficially friendly but the manager wasn't very engaged. Lastly, there is a fishtank in the lobby that, like the rest of the hotel, needed cleaning badly and adds to the overall depressing atmosphere of the place. Parking only in the busy street out front. All that said the sheets did seem to be freshly washed and pressed.
