The following is a contemporary opinion, as things might have significantly improved in the future. The hotel itself is brand new. It is so new that some things were not yet properly working. Equally imperfect was the infrastructure around the hotel. But first things first: the staff service was very good. Immediately after we did our online booking, we recieved more information via WhatsApp on how to reach the hotel. This was necessary as the road to the hotel is a still unfinished gravel road, like many other roads in busy Tulum. There was heavy work on the road, as was from morning to evening in the house next to the hotel. This causes lots of loud noise (chainsaw etc..) just next to our room. So there was no relaxing during daylight and from early morning. The first day the TV was also not working as wasn't Netflix (something that was promoted on the website - and one reason why we decided for the hotel). Also, in a hotel that presents itself as fancy as the Strabon, you would expect to have little amenities in the bathroom, like shower gel and shampoo, but there wasn't any of those available during our two nights stay. We can image that many things in and around the Strabon will improve in the near future, but during our stay it was definitely not worth the money we spent.
