the room was very cool, it was also huge, such a cool place hiding away in madison.
The theme was amazing and the rooms were beautiful. Very clean. Easy waking access to everything on State street. The customer service was fantastic.
No staff - just walked in with the PIN and got the key that was left for me. Super nice room - I had the smallest room and it was for 1 night but was pleasantly surprised at everything available to me. I would definitely stay here again.
Remarkably roomy, especially for the price! Huge bed, living area, massive bathroom with whirlpool tub.
We loved our stay, such a cool room over the bookstore. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars. Finding parking was relatively easy. Very comfortable. We hope to have an opportunity to stay here again.
Wonderful place! Comfy, cozy, quiet, and a great rate! I would definitely come back if I were in the area again:)
perfect, quiet, huge and clean - centrally located. hidden gem!
First - the good.: The location is right in the middle of about 15 or so assorted bars and restaurants. You don't have to walk more than two blocks for anything. The room had a REAL coffee maker with REAL coffee - quite a change from the usual. The bath towels were better than mine at home, quite a difference from the usual hotel towels. The bed was very comfortable, but I wish I had brought my pillow - but that is normal. The Bad: The room did not have one of the stated amenities - the microwave. I did not need it, but it is listed. It is impossible to leave the toilet seat up - it fell while I was using the toilet and had to be held up during subsequent trips. I know, this IS Madison, WI, but why did you not list Fox News Channel in your channel lineup? It is available; I know as I found it along with many others not listed. The Ugly: The large cabinet in the room had drawer pulls entirely missing and there was a large cobweb near the desk - within three inches of the lit lamp. Now, to the two things I did not know about when I booked through Hotels.com: There is NO manned front desk. You basically check yourself in and out and, if something runs out - like the facial tissue did - where do you get more? Also not mentioned when I booked was the parking situation. You either pay $15.00 a night for one of two available parking spots in a lot a block away, or you pay an exorbitant amount in public parking farther away. Also, the windows had frosted glass. No view.
Loved the theme of the room! Very cool and different! Loved everything about the place and would highly recommend over hotels in the area.
The theme and thematic decor was fun, entertaining, and not all what I expected. Even though it was a little spooky at first. I adjusted. The instructions for everything were very clear and I felt I knew where to go if I needed help. Because I love medieval stuff and particularly Canterbury Tales this was definitely a unique hotel experience.
