Went for 1 night after our daughters wedding, room was comfy enough, although a bit dated and tired. Staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast in morning was freshly made and superbly cooked. Only issues were a shower that seemed uncontrollable ( my wife could not get temperature right), and a noise outside, maybe an extractor going on and off during the night. Also, no food other than a panini at the bar in the afternoon, which was a bit nondescript and slightly burnt on the bottom! (Although they gave me a discount for that). Overall, just ok for one night, but still a lovely old building.

The rooms floors creaked with every single step and a level which is unacceptable. The shower did not work. No ventilation in the room so have to keep window open which then let’s all the noise in from below. Overall not a pleasant stay and won’t stay here again.

Checkin staff were fine but the room was clean but dated. Shower water pressure was non existent and took 5 mins to warm up - however water literally dribbled out of shower head! Missed breakfast as it closed at 10am on a Saturday.

Our room was not dirty but the toilet pan was stained as was the shower curtain. There was little loo roll; no soap, no tooth mugs, little tea & milk and no coffee, mug, tea-cup with no saucer, not uncomfortable bed but you could feel the springs. No-one was at the reception from about 9-10a.m. when we wanted to check out. The hotel looked good from the outside and was conveniently located. Parking was easy once you found the car park.

Had to cancel due to daughter being rushed to hospital. I understand the no refund policy but after speaking with the hotel and hotels.com trying to get a partial refund back. They said no. Little disappointed not going lie. 50% back would have been fair and nice, considering the emergency situation.

The Rose and Crown was sufficient,needs money spent on it throughout to bring it up to date. Couldn't get any food to eat,dining room was only for bed and breakfast customers. 1 cup in the bedroom,2 teabags,3 sachets of coffee,no glass in the bathroom, only 1 set of towels in the bathroom.

This place needs to be condemned. It’s horrible. There was blood splattered up the walls in the bathroom, everything was just grim. Happy to have parking but that’s literally all the place had going for it. I’d probably have been more comfortable sleeping in my car.
