The Wheel at ICON Park™ – formerly known as the Orlando Eye – is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. The giant observation wheel elevates passengers 400 feet into the sky for some awesome panoramic views over downtown Orlando and Central Florida beyond. Opened in April 2015, the circular structure is similar in design to the likes the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer. It's officially classed as an observation wheel because the motion is slow and steady – the only scary thing is the look down!

Good to know about The Wheel at ICON Park™
To get into one of The Wheel at ICON Park's capsules, it costs from $20 when you buy your ticket online. There's also a whole host of other ticketing options available, such as flex passes, special occasions, and groups. There are 30 capsules in total, meaning you don’t have to queue for too long. Sometimes, you’ll get your own private space (which is air-conditioned, by the way). Each capsule can hold up to 15 people, so it’s best to book ahead if you’re planning to come in a large group.
Your ticket includes a ‘pre-flight 4D Cinema Experience’, which points out all the places of interest around the Central Florida region that you’ll be seeing for real when you reach the top. Look out for the lush green Everglades, sprawling Universal and Disney resorts, Downtown Orlando’s skyline. On a clear day, you can even see all the way over to Cape Canaveral on the east coast.
As part of the Merlin Entertainment Group, you can buy combo tickets to the company’s other big-name attractions in Orlando, including Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium.
Located in the south-western suburbs just off International Drive, The Wheel at ICON Park™ is a little way out of the main city. However, if the traffic isn’t too bad, it’s only a short drive from Disney, Universal and Downtown Orlando.
