The woods themselves are magical! Maps available at the gift shop. The cabins are from the 1930s so they're small, but has a shower and stone fireplace so it's a great value when you want to go camping but don't want to spend hours setting up & tearing down.
Some of the facilities could use some maintenance, but for being nearly 100 years old, this is a great, safe park. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, but the food leaves something to desire. I get it, it's hard to run a restaurant, but maybe going full-bakery to focus on your amazing pies & collaboration with Jens bread or bake your own instead of a greasy spoon restaurant with the tired classics. Soup with panini press sandwiches, pie, and coffee would be more streamline for the restaurant and would encourage Door Dash or anyone who wants a quick, delicious bite, which isn't easy to find in the area.

It was a pleasure to stay in such a historic facility (built by the CCC) showing excellent craftmanship and pride in the work performed and that it has been so well maintained. Our cabin was comfy and cozy and very clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to try the restaurant, but the offerings looked good.

Cute, rustic cottages within a beautiful wooded state park. Plenty of games offered from the lodge and a charming restaurant and patio. Highly recommend!

The room was clean. It was warm and kept the chill off of us. The fireplace warmed the room up quickly. The bathroom is old but roomy and functional. The construction of the cabin was really interesting with all those logs and the stone fireplace.

My daughter and I Ioved the cabin and the quiet, peaceful surroundings. All the staff personnel we met were friendly and accommodating.
The food in the restaurant was good; we had supper there the day we arrived and we also enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
Best of all, the hiking trails and nature.
Our cabin was small, but it was equipped with everything we needed.
I'm a huge fan now and I'm sure we'll come back.

This is such a great place to go to unplug for a few days! There is WiFi, but it is not fast, which is exactly what we were looking for! We stayed three nights and did not leave the grounds. The restuarant is open for breafast, lunch, and supper, and there is a small fridge in each cabin. The staff is attentive, helpful, and friendly; we happened to be there during a winter storm, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe and comfortable. The best part, though, was the beauty of the forest around us. There is nothing like a hike in the snowy woods!

Off the beaten path treasure!
Off the beaten path, but SO much better than staying at a chain hotel! Cabins are older, but in excellent shape. Very comfortable bed, gas fireplace and so much charm.

Wasn’t informed that the restaurant wasn’t open the night we stayed. Ended up eating pickles and popcorn for dinner
