Not a Hotel â More Like a Hostel Charging Hotel Prices
This place is marketed as a hotel, but in reality, it feels more like a hostel â just with hotel-level pricing. You're essentially paying for the location, as it's close to the museum quarter, which is admittedly convenient.
Here are the key issues:
No real reception â There's no front desk. Instead, a staff member at the cafĂ© next door acts as "reception" from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Poor accessibility â Thereâs no proper entrance; you have to climb stairs, and taxis canât stop right outside the property.
Extremely small rooms â The room is tiny, even by Japanese standards. You can't fully open a suitcase on the floor.
No real windows â The only windows face the staircase and a very slow elevator. You can hear everyone passing by clearly.
Inconvenient power setup â Turning off the room lights also cuts power to the outlets, so you can't charge your phone unless you leave the lights on (except in the bathroom).
Basic bedding â Standard hostel-quality linens and pillows (cushions actually).
On the plus side, the room was clean and odor-free â but that should be the bare minimum for any hotel.
Overall, if youâre expecting hotel quality, youâll likely be disappointed. You're paying for the location, not the experience.
