Clean, Good Value, Nice Staff
Overall. The Block is a good value for the money. Room was spacious enough and, more importantly, was clean and comfortable.
This is a minimalistic hotel so donât expect extras and even has some standards removed.
There is a desk area and chair. No other chairs. The window has a nice large shelf which can hold your luggage. There is no closet but they have a rack in the room with hangars. No iron and ironing board. They do have basic toiletries and a hair dryer.
My wife and I found the bed comfortable and nice to have a king size.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Really nice check-in and additional help.
Only two things that were a little offâŠ
1 - The room window had a blackout curtain but it did not fully cover the window so light would come around the edges. My wife is a light sleeper so this was a challenge.
2 - The towels had a strong bleach smell but at least that means you know they are really washing them.
We travel to the region several times per year and are always looking for a better place to stay. The Block is high on our list â with the only real concern being the light around the window.
As a bonus, at least for us, is the Starbucks right in front of the Block so I could walk over for coffee.
