Love El Tigre Waterfalls and Hideaway Villa

El Tigre is a beautiful place to stay. The service from Andrea, Randy and team was amazing…even though the location is remote, we had everything we needed thanks to their exemplary customer service. The hike to the waterfalls was incredible and we loved the villa. Great blend of activity and relaxation. Just a perfect long weekend in the Bamboo House with our daughter!

Fue una experiencia increíble. Estar hospedado rodeado de naturaleza en todo su esplendor fue una experiencia única e inigualable. Abrir la ventana y ver llover entre las montañas, la vista espectacular, amenidades de lujo y atención personalizada fue una experiencia increíble. Necesitas tener condiciones adecuadas para llegar al lugar. Es necesario que te guste el 4x4 para disfrutar la experiencia al 100. Nos tocó mucha lluvia pero eso no fue impedimento para disfrutar las amenidades. El hike y la casada El Tigre es espectacular. El restaurante también ofrece buenas opciones. Para llegar ahí tienes que manejar unos 30 minutos del centro de Santa Elena. La cabaña Bambú muy linda y adecuada para nuestra familia de 6.

Unique luxury experience. We stayed with our two kids (6 and 9) and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The driver took us onto a real 4x4 off road experience whenever we were shuttled from the house to the reception/restaurant. The house had an amazing hot pool, fast internet, hot showers, a full kitchen, cosy beds, and the architecture of our house with its indoor/outdoor aspects could easily make it into some glossy magazines. Great hiking trails and all very private. Just wow. Thank you!

We stayed at El Tigre Hideaway for four nights in July and had a truly unique and memorable experience. The villa itself is beautiful and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need, including extra blankets, robes and slippers, a fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of toiletries and supplies. The staff was also incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The nearby hikes were absolutely amazing and were some of the highlights of our trip. If you're looking for an authentic rainforest experience, this is it! There are a few things future guests should know. We visited in July and it rained almost nonstop during our stay, so unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy the outdoor patios or swing areas. We hiked in the rain, which was part of the adventure, but the humidity made it difficult for clothes to dry, even inside the villa. A small washer and dryer would be a wonderful addition for guests returning from muddy hikes. Also, if you are uncomfortable with bugs, be prepared. Even with doors and windows closed, some insects still found their way inside. They were fascinating and unlike anything we had ever seen, but there were quite a few of them. As advertised, you cannot drive directly to the villa and must use their transportation service. The drivers were prompt most of the time, but the road is steep, rocky, unpaved, and quite bumpy! No maid service and the closest restaurant for dinner is 30 minutes away. A peaceful, remote rainforest retreat

My stay at El Tigre Hideaway was truly one of the greatest vacations I have ever had. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every detail was handled with care, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. A special and heartfelt thank you goes to Andrea, the concierge, who made our experience unforgettable. She went above and beyond in every way possible—coordinating transportation, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay, and always making herself available with a warm smile and exceptional service. Her dedication and kindness made such a lasting impression on us, and I will forever be grateful for everything she did to make our trip so memorable. We stayed in the Honeymoon Villa, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The view was beyond beautiful—waking up each morning and taking in the scenery felt like something out of a dream. The villa itself was stunning, private, comfortable, and the perfect setting for a truly relaxing getaway. What also stood out was the incredible staff. Every single team member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our stay exceptional. The level of service throughout the property was first-class and exceeded all expectations. El Tigre Hideaway is a special place that delivers not only luxury and beauty but also warmth and personalized hospitality. Thanks to Andrea and the entire staff, this was a vacation we will cherish forever.

This cabin is really cool! We came here for one night with our three kids. They were in awe over the room. We ate lunch at the restaurant which was also great. For the price, we wouldn’t stay again and here’s why. The hotel is very remote, and the road to get in is crazy. It’s so crazy that you have to park at the hotel, and then they drive you to your cabin. We went to dinner at the Treehouse (highly recommend!), but then we had to drive back at night to our remote hotel. Visibility was poor and it just made for a stressful drive back. This place is super cool, but if I could have done it all over again I probably would have booked a place in town with easier access to the tours and such. Customer service was great however.

We loved it here. The family cabin (casa bamboo) was fantastic and there was loads of room for our party of nine to sleep. The walk to the waterfalls is included in your stay and it was really interesting with lots of waterfalls and hanging bridges on the way. You have to bear in mind that it is remote and you need to be transported to the accommodation using their 4x4's but you can just message them on WhatsApp and they come and get you instantly. So, if you are looking for an escape for a few nights I couldn't recommend it more!
