Something important to know is that this is essentially student accommodation (we didn’t when we booked)!
It is a brand new, beautiful building, with excellent attention to detail as regards building quality and presentation.
However, we got off to a bad start because the girl who checked us in didn’t explain anything about the rooms, the layout, the facilities, etc. She just gave us our room card, point us in the direction of the lifts and that was it. It wasn’t until checking out the next day I learned that there was a communal kitchen for each floor (where I could have found a glass to have a drink of water, st least)!
So, as it is essentially student accommodation, there were no glasses, toiletries, hair dryer, etc Towels were provided. All of this is fine, as long as you know in advance.
The evening of our stay there was no hot water. It was during a period of high temperatures so the cold shower wasn’t as traumatic as it could have been … and the next morning I heard there had been a problem with the system. I understood - these things happen. All new buildings have teething problems, so I wasn’t too upset. I think the thing that upset me most was the attitude of the manager the next morning. As I waited to check out I overheard her conversation with another guest, who related his experiences. He had a sympathetic response, which involved getting a refund! I felt this was unnecessary. Yet her response to my feedback was that I should have known it was student accom!
