I recently stayed at the Donna Portals hotel in Palma de Mallorca, expecting a luxurious 5-star experience. Instead, I encountered poor management and lackluster hospitality skills from start to finish.
Firstly, the reception process was bizarre. I was awkwardly directed to a distant bar from the reception area and asked for my credit card, which was taken away—unacceptable and unprofessional.
The room was another major letdown. The TV didn’t work, and the coffee capsules for the Nespresso machine were generic. The room’s door was damaged, requiring a manual key instead of an access card. Despite their promise to fix it, no one ever came.
Breakfast via room service was equally disappointing. I ordered scrambled eggs with vegetables and received a tiny portion with a single leaf of lettuce. They forgot the bread basket and brought just two slices of bread instead.
The hotel’s disorganization extended to billing procedures at the pool, where receipts lacked a designated space for room numbers. Their online advertising of an exclusive beach was misleading; it’s a crowded public beach.
This hotel seems to be run by someone with no clue about hospitality. Donna Portals is an absolute disgrace. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this so-called 5-star hotel at all costs.
